When you close your eyes and think of Mykonos you probably imagine your favourite summer party island. Long, hot days on the beach at your favourite beach bar, and even longer evenings and nights at some of the best restaurants, bars and clubs in the Mediterranean. This is the Mykonos we all know and love. But, there is more to this magical island than meets the eye, and a whole new Mykonos to discover with a winter holiday in Mykonos.
Peace & Quiet During Winter in Mykonos
Winter gives you the opportunity to experience wonderful Mykonos like you’ve never seen it before. Gone are the massed crowds of the summer, and the busy beaches, replaced by peaceful calm and serenity. Clear sand, empty shoreline and sea stretch out before you. Enjoy some much needed winter sun. Gaze out over rolling hills with hardly a soul in sight, and marvel at the island’s natural beauty, with winter adding more colour to the Mykonian countryside with verdant green hills and flowers. Be awed by a spectacular azure blue sky interspersed with incredible cloud formations. Winter Mykonos is a great destination for those seeking to get away from it all – the perfect holiday to spend writing and reading in peace and quiet.
Discover Mykonos in the Winter
Mykonos in winter offers you the chance to discover the real soul of the island and explore. With cooler temperatures compared to the summer it’s much easier to venture around the island, seeing her famous sights and attractions and uncovering hidden gems for yourself. Make a tour of Mykonos’ marvellous churches like Paraportiani Church and the Paleokastro monastery. You might even be lucky enough to visit the extraordinary Delos island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our concierge team may even be able to arrange a private guided tour of the island for you. Or you can just wander peacefully out from Semeli Hotel in Mykonos Town, and roam the quiet winding cobbled streets of the Chora. Get swept up in the romance of Little Venice – at times you’ll feel like you have the place to yourself. With fewer tourists you can experience the authentic Greek Mykonian islander life and get to know the locals. Embrace the slower pace of life during winter in Mykonos and truly kick back and relax. This is your holiday.
