Aristotle Onassis, Maria Callas, Jackie Kennedy, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly, Leonardo Dicaprio, Paris Hilton, Gerald Butler, Adriana Lima…Name dropping is the easiest thing to do when referring to Mykonos. For ever since the ‘60’s, when the aforementioned Greek shipping tycoon rocked up on his megayacht along with his opera diva, everybody who’s anybody, has holidayed at least once in the notorious island of winds.
In fact in recent years Mykonos has even supplanted Ibiza as the de rigueur playground for celebrities, jetsetters and clubbers alike.
At Semeli, we are a bit of party animals ourselves- and we certainly enjoy the finer things in life– so we are delighted that the season is finally on. For this means that we now have the opportunity to amuse our palates and dance our nights away at our favorite Semeli groups’ spots.
Experience some serious fun time at Semeli Group’s establishments
Quality of life is a matter of choices, so we suggest that you begin your evening with a signature cocktail at Oniro bar while basking in it’s amazing, unobstructed sea vistas, and then continue with an epicurean culinary experience at Thioni restaurant. Amidst its most elegant, uber cool settings, you’ll enjoy celebrated Chef Tassos Georgas’ s signature dishes such as pan fried Salmon with ikura caviar, ravioli with crab or Summer flavored octopus with Santorini fava.
Of course Mykonos means party from dusk (or earlier!) till dawn, so after dinner, just take a stroll towards town and its most photogenic, idyllic spot, Little Venice. There you’ll reach Semeli the Bar, one of the most well-known-and beloved- establishments among Mykonos patrons- an institution in effect. Following its recent refurbishment by acclaimed Greek architect Pavlos Ninios, it is now going stronger than ever. Open throughout the day, it offers a selection of mouthwatering delicacies and desserts, the finest champagne and spirits as well as its signature, creative concoctions. A good idea is to book your private table overlooking the famous sunset or, if you’re feeling extra frisky, inside, where all action peaks, as night steadily progresses. A few steps away, at Little Venice’s most photographed spot, you’ll also find Bao’s. Drawing inspiration from its mythic namesake, legendary pirate Bao, this Cocktail Bar boasts a rebellious and unconventional spirit, daring cocktails and epic music from around the world. Good times are guaranteed, especially if you continue upstairs at Charlie, Mykonos’ most elite private club, preferred by the world’s rich and famous, champagne sipping, paparazzi snapped, crowd. Still you haven’t seen nearly enough. Toy Room, is another stop you simply must include in your itinerary. Fashioned like an opulent, cosy living room with its one off designer furniture and artworks, it is the place to be to socialize with models, singers and A- listers, dance on the floor-or on the tables- and relish the concoctions prepared by some of the top mixologists in town. By Mykonos standards, the night is still young, so you need not yet return to your room at Semeli. At least not before experiencing some serious, Greek style fun, at recently relaunched Mykonos Bar: A historic venue in which you’ll witness international movie stars and fashion designers getting swept away and throwing flowers in sync with the music, in true Greek fashion.
With mega-yachts moored in its harbour, magnums of champagne consumed on its beaches and bars, and roll call of famous names invading it like an army, Mykonos is the undisputed queen of hip summer fun. Oriented towards pleasure, Semeli group’s array of establishments, is certainly your best bet to experience it all.
